Hey there,
This is my first post so forgive me, but I can't find information on how to install MGSO on the mac, even though I can find a few threads with people who already have.
I have morrowind running through a wrapper but can't figure out how to get MGSO running along side that.
If anyone has a walkthrough or can help me set it up, it would be much appreciated!

Honestly I've never tried using a 'wrapper'
But I've had lots of success using Parallels 7. My wife's 2011 imac can run windows games better than my pc!

I run Morrowind on OSX in a wrapper, and I've used MGSO with it in the past. Almost everything is compatible on mac OS, except for MGE. So you can have all the functional mods, texture replacers, sounds, etc. But you can't have that shiny graphics extender unless you run a copy of windows via bootcamp or Parallels desktop, or some other emulation/virtualization method.
If you're going to stick with the wrapper, WineBottler is your best friend. It allows you to convert windows .exe's into mac apps via Wine. As a mac gamer, it's something you shouldn't live without.
You can use WineBottler to open the MGSO self-extracting archive (which is an .exe) and extract all the data into your Morrowind directory. Any extracted executables can then be opened using WineBottler as well.
Also, remember to ALWAYS back up your copy of Morrowind beforehand. The MGSO installer will delete/replace many vanilla files that you may want to have access to in the future.

Interesting discussion here. I'm on a 2011 MBP with Mavericks. Good wrapper recommendations? I generally go Win7 for games, but Morrowind I wouldn't mind having on my main laptop for quicker access

There are several good wrappers out there. Personally, I'd recommend anything Wine over Cider. If they happen to be too outdated for Mavericks, you can always update or create your own with Winery.
I'd also like to redirect anyone here to this topic.
