Your Apple ID is the personal account that you use to access Apple services like the App Store, iTunes Store, iCloud, and more. When you change your payment method or billing address, your information also updates everywhere that you use your Apple ID.

Change your payment method on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

The Child Support program responsibilities include locating parents, establishing paternity, establishing child and medical support orders, monitoring and enforcing compliance with child and medical support orders, reviewing and initiating modification of support orders and distributing support collections. 1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.*
2. Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in.
3. Tap Manage Payments. (If you're using an older version of iOS, tap Payment Information.) Then add, update, reorder, or remove your payment methods:

Update or add

• Update a payment method: Tap the payment method that you want to change, then edit your information. Make sure that your information matches what's on file with your financial institution. You might need to enter the security code that's printed on your credit or debit card. If you see Apple Pay after the last 4 digits of the card number, edit your billing information in the Wallet app.
• Add a payment method: Tap Add Payment Method. You might see a suggestion to add a card that you use with Apple Pay. (If you add a new credit or debit card, you might see an option to add the new card to Apple Pay.)

Remove or reorder

• Remove a payment method: Tap Edit, then tap the Remove icon or swipe left and tap delete.
• Change the order of your payment methods: Tap Edit, then use the Move Order icon to rearrange your payment methods. Apple will attempt to charge payment methods in order from top to bottom. You can't change the order in which Apple ID balance is charged.

*With iOS 12.2 or later, you can also manage your payment methods from Settings > [your name] > Payment & Shipping. If you have a device with iOS 12.1.x or earlier and you edit your payment methods from Payment & Shipping, all payment methods that you have on file will be removed.

Change your payment method on your Mac or PC

On your Mac, you can edit payment information in iTunes or the App Store. On a PC, use iTunes.

How to change your payment method in iTunes

Before you change your payment information, make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

1. Open iTunes.
2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account > View My Account.
3. Sign in with your Apple ID.
4. Make sure that what's listed on the Account Information page matches the information on file with your financial institution.
5. Click Manage Payments to the right of Payment Information. (If you're using an older version of iTunes, click Edit to the right of Payment Type.) Then add, update, remove, or reorder your payment methods:
   • Update a payment method: Click Edit next to the payment method that you want to change. You might need to enter the security code that's printed on your credit or debit card.
   • Add a payment method: Click Add Payment.
   • Remove a payment method: Click Edit next to the payment method that you want to remove, then click Remove.

How to change your payment method in the App Store

Before you change your payment information, make sure that you have the latest version of macOS.

1. Open the App Store on your Mac.
2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. If you're not signed in, click Sign In.
   
3. Click View Information.
4. Make sure that what's listed on the Account Information page matches the information on file with your financial institution.
5. Click Manage Payments to the right of Payment Information. (If you're using an older version of macOS, click Edit to the right of Payment Type.) Then add, update, remove, or reorder your payment methods:
   • Update a payment method: Click Edit next to the payment method that you want to change. You might need to enter the security code that's printed on your credit or debit card.
   • Add a payment method: Click Add Payment.
   • Remove a payment method: Click Edit next to the payment method that you want to remove, then click Remove.

Change your payment method on your Android device

You can edit your payment information on an Android device, but doing so will remove all payment methods except your primary method from your Apple ID and from other devices that you use with your Apple ID. To avoid this, use iTunes on a Mac or PC to update your payment information.

Before you change your payment information, make sure that you have the latest version of Apple Music for your Android device.

1. Open the Apple Music app on your Android device. From the bottom of the screen, tap Library, For You, Browse, or Radio. Then tap the menu button in the upper right corner.
2. Tap Account > Payment Information. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID. If you don't see Account, tap Settings > Sign In, sign in with your Apple ID, tap the back button , and tap the menu button again.
   
3. On the Payment Information screen, change or remove your information. To remove the payment method, select None.
   
4. Make sure that your name and billing address exactly match the information on file with your financial institution, then tap Done.

Manage payment methods that family members use

When you set up Family Sharing and turn on purchase sharing, one adult in the family—the family organizer—controls a single shared payment method for everyone in the family group. Learn more about family purchases and payments.

If you're the family organizer, you can add multiple payment methods to your own Apple ID, but your family members can use only the first payment method in the list. If a family member can't make a purchase, the family organizer can move a different payment method to the top of the list.

If you can't change or remove your payment information

• Get help if you can't remove your last payment method or use no payment method with your Apple ID.
• If you can’t change your payment method and use older software, you might need to update your device.

If you have a question about a charge

• Learn what to do if you see a charge that you don't recognize on your statement.
• If you change your payment method to a credit or debit card, you might see a temporary authorization hold on your account.
• Did you see Apple charges on a new credit or debit card? Your financial institution might have automatically updated your information for you. If you have any concerns about this process, contact your card issuer or financial institution.
